30 min by bus
The Kotoden Bus limousine is the easy way from Takamatsu Airport into town. It takes about 45 minutes to JR Takamatsu Station and Takamatsu Port (ferry terminal); fare is ¥1,000 for adults (¥500 for elementary students). To Ritsurin-Koen-mae it is about 23 minutes, ¥900. Take a numbered ticket when boarding and pay on exit in cash or with a transit IC card (IruCa, Suica, ICOCA and other nationwide IC cards).
From bus stop 1, the "Kinku Bus" runs directly to JR Kotohira Station (about 48 min, adults ¥2,000), so you can head straight to the shrine on arrival. Services are infrequent, so check times in advance.
From bus stop 4, Kotosan Bus runs to Sakaide Station (about 50 min, ¥1,200) and Marugame Station (about 75 min, ¥1,400).
Rental car counters are in the arrivals lobby. A rental car is the efficient choice for western Kagawa (Chichibugahama) or Shodoshima. A taxi to Takamatsu Station takes about 35 minutes and costs around ¥5,000.
